Introduction
This notice explains how Modular Home Ireland (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, shares and protects your personal data when you visit modularhomeireland.ie, contact us, request a catalogue, price list or stock list, or become a customer. It also explains your rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”) and the Data Protection Acts 1988 to 2018.

2. What Personal Data We Collect
Information You Give Us
Contact details: your name, email address, phone number and postal address, for example when you complete our contact form or request a price list, catalogue or stock list.
Enquiry and project details: information you share about your plans, your site, the type of building you are interested in, your budget and your timescales.
Customer information: details needed to quote for, design, deliver and install your home or building, including the site address, contract details, payment records and correspondence.
Communications: emails, form submissions, messages and notes of phone calls with our team.
Business contact details: if you contact us on behalf of a school, business, healthcare provider, club or other organisation, we collect your name, role and work contact details.
Information Collected Automatically
Website usage data: your IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, time spent on pages, how you arrived at our website and similar information, collected through cookies and similar technologies where you have allowed them (see Section 8).
Call tracking data: if you call us after clicking on one of our Google advertisements, Google may record information such as the call start time, duration and the caller’s area code, so we can understand which advertisements generate enquiries.
Information We Do Not Collect
We do not knowingly collect special category data, such as health information, about you. Please do not send us this type of information unless it is necessary for your project, for example accessibility requirements for a home being built for a family member. If you do share it, we will use it only for that purpose.
3. How and Why We Use Your Personal Data
Under GDPR, we must have a legal basis for each use of your personal data. We rely on the following:
- To Respond to Your Enquiries and Requests
We use your contact and enquiry details to reply to you, send you the price list, catalogue or stock list you requested and follow up on your enquiry.
Legal basis: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b)), and our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us (Article 6(1)(f)). - To Quote For, Design, Build and Deliver Your Project
We use your information to prepare quotations, carry out site assessments, design, manufacture, deliver and install your home or building, and provide aftercare.
Legal basis: performance of a contract with you (Article 6(1)(b)). - To Meet Our Legal Obligations
We keep certain records to comply with tax, accounting, building control and other legal requirements.
Legal basis: compliance with a legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)). - To Run and Improve Our Business and Website
We use website analytics and enquiry records to understand how people use our website, measure our advertising, improve our services and keep our systems secure.
Legal basis: your consent for non-essential cookies and analytics (Article 6(1)(a)), and our legitimate interests in operating and improving our business (Article 6(1)(f)). - To Send You Marketing
We may send you news and offers about our homes and buildings by email only where you have agreed to receive them, or where you are an existing customer and have not opted out, in line with the ePrivacy Regulations (S.I. No. 336 of 2011). You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email or by emailing sales@modularhomeireland.ie.

We may use your information to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

4. Who We Share Your Personal Data With
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only where necessary with:
- Our website and hosting providers, which host our website and the data submitted through our forms.
- HubSpot, our customer relationship management (CRM) platform, which we use to manage enquiries, forms, emails and website analytics.
- Google, which provides Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Site Kit and Google Ads call tracking.
Our email and IT service providers.
- Partners involved in delivering your project, such as engineers, architects, surveyors, transport and crane hire companies, groundworks contractors and installers, where needed to complete your project.
- Professional advisers, such as accountants, solicitors and insurers.
- Public authorities, such as Revenue, local authorities or An Garda Síochána, where we are required or permitted by law.
- Service providers that process personal data on our behalf act as data processors under written agreements and may only use your data on our instructions.
5. Transfers Outside the European Economic Area
Some of our service providers, including HubSpot and Google, are part of groups based in the United States, and your data may be accessed from or transferred outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where the recipient is certified under it, or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses. You can contact us for more information about these safeguards.
6. How Long We Keep Your Personal Data
We keep personal data only for as long as we need it for the purposes set out in this notice:
- Enquiries that do not lead to a contract: up to 2 years after our last contact with you, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
- Customer and contract records: for 7 years after the completion of your project, to meet tax and accounting requirements and to deal with warranty matters or legal claims. Some records relating to the design and construction of buildings may be kept longer where needed for legal or warranty purposes.
- Marketing preferences: until you unsubscribe. We keep a record of your opt-out so we do not contact you again.
- Website analytics data: for the retention periods set in Google Analytics and HubSpot.
When data is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymise it.
7. Your Rights Under GDPR
You have the following rights in relation to your personal data:
- Right of access: to ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification: to ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Right to erasure: to ask us to delete your data, where there is no good reason for us to keep it.
- Right to restriction: to ask us to limit how we use your data in certain circumstances.
- Right to data portability: to receive data you provided to us in a structured, commonly used format, or have it sent to another organisation, where processing is based on consent or contract and is carried out by automated means.
- Right to object: to object to processing based on our legitimate interests. You can object to direct marketing at any time, and we will stop.
- Right to withdraw consent: where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. This does not affect processing carried out before you withdrew it.
We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing, including profiling, that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
How to Exercise Your Rights
Email sales@modularhomeireland.ie with “Data Protection” in the subject line. We may need to verify your identity before acting on your request. We will respond within one month. This can be extended by up to two further months for complex or numerous requests, in which case we will tell you why. There is normally no charge.
Your Right to Complain
If you are unhappy with how we handle your personal data, please contact us first so we can try to put things right. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission, Ireland’s supervisory authority, at www.dataprotection.ie, or by post at 21 Fitzwilliam Square South, Dublin 2, D02 RD28.
8. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. We use them to make our website work, to understand how it is used and to measure our advertising.
Types of Cookies We Use
Strictly necessary cookies: needed for the website and its forms to work and to remember your cookie choices. These do not require consent.
Analytics cookies: set by Google Analytics and HubSpot to help us understand how visitors use our website, for example cookies such as _ga, __hstc, hubspotutk and __hssc.
Advertising cookies: set by Google to measure the effectiveness of our advertisements, such as _gcl_au.

9. How We Protect Your Personal Data
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or alteration. These include secure (HTTPS) connections to our website, access controls on our systems and choosing reputable service providers. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Our website and services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16.

Our website contains links to other websites and social media pages, such as Facebook and Instagram. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites, and we encourage you to read their privacy notices.
